This is a super pottery on the main road a few minutes from Tobermory. There is also a shop on the Main Street but this one is the studio and gallery where Peter Walker aka Pete the Pot, who studied art and ceramics at Glasgow School of Art, is to be found. Easy parking in this little group of shops - including a fine fish shop - and there is a lovely cafe attached to the pottery - entry from within or upstairs outside to a lovely deck with fantastic views over Mull. See places to eat section. No e mail at present so please telephone.

This fabulous pottery is part of the small croft community at the Old Byre over on the west coast of Aran. A scenic drive from the ferry, or all you budding cyclists can get fit of course - just make sure you have a basket on your bike to carry back your pottery purchases! There is Cafe Thyme here too so a perfect wee round trip. Simon's ceramics are creative and colourful, decorative and practical. He reflects the sea and landscapes in natural and vibrant colours. My only problem was deciding what to go for! A better photo soon!

Throwing pots in Sandwick for 30years now "Harray Potter" makes not only beautiful functional pottery - I bought some beautiful blue mugs - but also historic items like the one below made traditionally and based on the artefacts found nearby at Skara Brae.

Also home to Applesmoke Salmon, he uses organically farmed salmon reared off Orkney and smoked on South Ronaldsay, and cured garavadlax too. Always very popular. Click on enquiry button for more info.

Scotland's first and only chilli farm! An innovative new venture for arty duo Patricia and Stacey Galfskiy who have combined food products and with handmade chilli inspired glass art. Producing jams, chutneys, chocolate and chilli related gifts. Sometimes at Edinburgh Farmers' Market too.

I love these jazzy glass platters pictured, transforming upcycled real glass bottles into cheese boards. Congratulations on a well deserved Special Commendation at the Regional Finals of the National Thistle Awards where Stacey was nominated for Young Ambassador of the Year 2014.

This marvellous studio in the pretty village of Smailholm is my kind of place! There is beautifully tactile woodwork, creative jewellery and, naturally, practical and appealing ceramics, perfect for home cooked food! There are many decorative pieces for display too of course, but I like to use my ceramics! The pieces are fired to high temperatures enabling them to be dishwasher and ovenproof and the designs reflect nature and humour, bold and delicate shades. What a talented family!

Kinsman Blake have created amazing cheese/butter bells and platters for your cheeses! The Snakes and ladders one has a complete 'snakes and ladders' board on the platter and a small accompanying bowl with ceramic counters. It is a large and perfect for an after dinner game once the cheese is eaten!
