This is a prime example of a wonderful farm shop and Loch Lomond is lucky to have them! They have their own herd of Highland Cattle plus additional meats in their chiillers from other local suppliers and a range of pies from the Aberfoyle Butcher. We bought some of their own Highland Beef and slow cooked it on our log stove...wow...these traditional breeds taste superb.

They have a full range range of lovely artisan cheeses on their CHEESE COUNTER, better than many a city deli, plus bread deliveries from Mhor and a lovely selection of rapeseed oil, jams, chutneys and other goodies. There are a few stools by their log stove to tarry a while with a top notch coffee and delicious home baking so you need not hurry!

Janet Henderson started Henderson's on this very site in the 60's and it is still going strong, now in its third generation. The deli has had a total revamp this year (2016) and original tiling, even pre dating Janet, has been rediscovered, giving this deli and mini cafe a delightful retro yet polished feel - really fab!

All the produce on sale is made entirely from natural ingredients daily. They support local suppliers such as Tiphereth organic jams and chutneys, artisan cheeses, fair trade teas and Brodies coffees and a great many other ever so useful items for a handy shop. Look out for their cookbooks full of healthy eating tips.

Like their Restaurant below and the adjacent Henderson's Vegan (Edinburgh's first) they specialise in organic produce and won the Broons Family Business Award. 50 years on Henderson's still leads the way.

The Castle of Mey was built by George, the 4th Earl of Caithness, and has a long and breathtaking history culminating in its sale to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1952. She fell for its isolation and beauty, rescued and restored it, and also renamed it Castle of Mey. She went on to have many many happy years here, every summer and at other seasons of the year. She adored the gardens she restored to glory and these too are enjoyed by the visitors who flock here to this most northerly mainland castle. The vegetable gardens are simply stunning and the produce used in the bistro. The restaurant is beautifully designed, light and airy with lots of exposed beams, and the menu mouth-watering. The shop sells jams from their own fruit and home made shortbread alongside other attractive gifts with Royal connections. Open daily but only through seasonal opening so telephone to check.
